Over the weekend, my family celebrated my daughter, Claire’s, birthday! I can’t believe it has been 2 years since she was born. Everyone tells you that time flies, but its hard to believe until you’re a parent, but time does fly and they do grow up way too fast! Celebrating her birthday, reminded me of the day she was born and the 39 weeks before. I’ll admit my pregnancy was pretty non-eventful and my labor and delivery went as well as I could have hoped – 7 hours, no meds and a 10 lb. 7 oz. healthy baby girl. One thing that definitely helped me during my pregnancy and made labor and delivery go well, was receiving Chiropractic care throughout my pregnancy. I believe one of the best things a mom can do during her pregnancy is receive chiropractic adjustments and one of the most effective techniques for adjusting pregnant women is the Webster Technique.
The Webster Technique is a safe and effective chiropractic analysis and adjustment for pregnant women that helps decrease the effect of sacral misalignment/SI dysfunction. Correcting SI dysfunction can help improve neuro-biomechanical function and balance to the pelvis. which may improve the baby’s positioning and birth outcome, prevent dystocia (difficult labor), and relieve general aches and pains in the sacrum and pelvis. Pregnant moms are more susceptible to sacral and pelvic misalignments because of increased hormones (relaxin), weight gain, and changes in her posture, which is why I recommend chiropractic care throughout pregnancy. Ultimately, the Webster Technique corrects misalignments in the mom and offers a greater opportunity for the baby to develop without constraint and get into the best possible position for birth. Chiropractic care is safe throughout pregnancy.
The Webster Technique and chiropractic care not only helped me through my pregnancy and after I gave birth, but have also helped my patients to better birth outcomes.
